I would like some recommendations of some good NEAR-FUTURE science
fiction books that educate as they entertain. More specifically, I am
looking for ones that the science they focus on is nanotechnology,
biotechnology, and/or artificial intelligence. The science of the
story not being "space opera" (Star Wars, Star Trek, etc.) but ones
where the science of the story is based on respected scientific
theories.
As for nanotechnology, I have read "Diamond Age" by Neal Stephenson
and "Prey" by Michael Crichton.
As for biotechnology, I am especially interested in human longevity
and rejuvenation.
As for artificial intelligence, I am sick of "AI as evil" stories.
Any recommendations?
Thanks in advance!

'The Ancient Order of Moridura' by Peter Curran (a recent publication)
may fit some of your criteria. There is a 'Search Inside' facility on
Amazon.com and a search facility at books.google.com - you can check
your search terms there. There is a also an author's blog on
moridura.blogspot.com with some extracts.
