Heh. Yes, but I note that even the Rocheworld example didn't have
*repeated* close passages, but a *continuous* close passage.
Tides just don't seem a good candicate for repeated, regular catastrophe.
Impacts from passing through a debris field seem more reasonable, like
the eartly meteor showers, but on steroids.
