The problem is that even Motel 6 - since they have daily maid

One more time: My "standard" isn't a lack of amenities, but a lack
of an affordable price. I've been trying to figure out *why* prices
are so high, and whether they can be reduced by doing without various
things that I believe many fans don't care about at all, such as fresh
sheets and towels every day, a room large enough to host a party in
(when they're not hosting one), a hundred channels of cable TV, free
parking, free access to a pool, exercise room, and sauna, and free Wi-Fi.
Which is to say that, in your model, daily maid service is a cost that
can be deleted by not having it.
If that doesn't suffice, perhaps prices can be reduced further by
giving up things that I believe most fans *do* value, but may be
willing to do without, such as individually controllable thermostats
and non-shared bathrooms.
And you've been told that Convention Hotels are built for business
travelers who will *not* put up with this (or a lack of the things in
the previous paragraph).
In the function space, bathrooms and
thermostats are shared, but few people are bothered by this.
Note that at no time have I suggested barracks housing,
Why are you putting this in a reply to me? Have I suggested that you

or putting up with fleas or bedbugs.
Some people think those might be the consequences of some of your ideas
(like bringing one's sheets from home).
