I stand corrected.

I see that you are utterly overjoyed to have finally caught me in a
minor error.

Well, it was getting tiresome catching you in MAJOR errors, but I
digress...

I'm glad I've brought a ray of sunshine into your life.

The sun is the only thing that brings rays of sunshine into my life.

Harmon does NOT post to rec.sport.football.college.

Perhaps he too misunderstood your abbreviation. When in doubt,
spell it out.

It never occurred to me that anyone would mistake
rec.sport.football.college (as rsfc) for anything else - especially not
rec.ARTS.sf.composition (especially seeing how every other rec.arts
group I'd ever seen the abbreviation for started off with "ra" - rasff,
rasfw, rasfwr-j, etc.).

It *especially* didn't occur to me that *you* would make that mistake.
The reason I say that is because you had to look up my posting history
when you asked where I had gone to while I was having connection issues
(as you mentioned that I had not posted anywhere else besides rasff
during my absence from the group). Both of the addresses used have
posted far more often to rsfc than to rasff.

If it were any more obvious, it'd be in your apartment slapping you
upside your head.

Do you have violent fantasies often?

Are you afraid that the words are going to *actually* fly off the screen
and slap you?

Do you wash your hands a lot?

No. Last week people were flaming me for not washing *enough*.

Are you constantly checking the stove to see that it is off?

No. I don't think I've even glanced at it in the past week.

Worried about bugs?

No. The way I post about cockroaches shows that I'm not especially
bothered by them. Anyhow, I only see one every few weeks these days.
Perhaps I've been subscribed to the roach of the month club.

"They're creeping up on you..."

I mean you DO shows signs (by your obsessive "fixing" of the posts
of others) of OCD.

Such fixing would indeed require a person with Obsessive Compulsive
Disorder (did I guess your abbreviation right this time?) if they were
stuck with as crappy a setup as you. But with a good terminal and
good shell account it's a trivial effort, and demonstrates nothing
more than my courtesy to the others in this newsgroup.

<snerk>

Since you don't use my setup, you have no idea how easy it is or isn't
to clean up posts with it.

Since I'm actually almost certainly the second most prolific "cleaner"
of posts (although far behind you) in this NG (you rarely see "- Hide
quoted text - - Show quoted text -" in my posts as an example - and when
you do, it is because I just plain didn't catch it), it can't be too
hard. I just don't care as much as you do - leading to the semi-serious
accusation of OCD.

The fact that I post more than anyone else here,

This just proves that Usenet is your life.

Think about it. Your whole Internet setup is optimized to read from and
post to Usenet. You get distressed when the volume goes up and you
think you'll have not respond to some of them.

hell, I've taken several breaks while composing this reply just to play
Free Cell. In fact, I think I'll play some more Free Cell now.

despite only spending an hour or two each day on it, proves that
whatever I'm doing doesn't take me much time.

Which proves what, exactly? That you type faster than the rest of us?
That you don't put nearly as much thought into your posts as the rest of
us?

I have a DSM-IV and I know how to use it. I don't suffer from
anything in it. Especially not OCD. Don't quit your day job,
"Dr." Loewe.

I see the concept of humor flies right past your ear...
