Maybe, but they're more likely to be killed by it under identical
conditions.
Unfortunately as we get older our metabolisms slow down.
I don't know exactly when I became as sensitive to cold as I am now,
but I know it was by age 15. I recall being teased for wearing winter
clothes out of season that year.
A friend is very sensitive to cold. A genetic test suggested that many of
her mitochondria don't function (I don't know what test was used).
