I remember from early childhood some truly phenomenal snows. Snow
over my head -- though admittedly I was somewhat shorter then. What
I *don't* remember is it being especially cold. These days, if it's
below freezing, unless it's sunny with no wind and I'm doing something
strenuous, I'm soon cold to the core, with the sort of cold that feels
like neither I nor the world will ever be warm again. It feels more
like something belonging to mythology than to science. Fimbulwinter.
