You know, she had Track 8 months after her wedding. It was only 6
months from my parent's wedding to my birth.

There are actually figures, for several European cities in the late
19th century, for the percentage of pregnant brides--as revealed by
dates of birth of their children. I think it was typically about a
third.

Well, Nancy Reagan was three months pregnant when she married RR.

Sarah Palin seems remarkable in another way. When I
hear the Republican presentation of who she is, she
doesn't sound all that bad. But then the news people
started digging, and there's some remarkable stuff
coming out of her past turning up in the news. For
example, she seems much less clean concerning that
Alaska senator, Stevens, who is in a little hot
water about corruption right now, than you'd think
from the Party presentation today.

Less clean how?

It is a legal principle in *this* country that you are innocent until
proven guilty. She supported an elder party statesman when he wasn't
under indictment. When the investigation started turning up things, she
distanced herself from him. And now that he's under indictment, she
doesn't support him anymore. That's pretty standard.

All that is raising another issue with me. It is,
are today's major news ...resources, *much* more
edited and slanted, than I had thought? ??
