An estimated 10 percent of Americans are surfing the net via dial-up
connections, according to a report released Wednesday by the Pew
Internet and American Life Project.
That number would be more informative if they also mentioned how many
of the other 90 percent have broadband and how many have no net access
at all.
I suspect that the survey involved internet users, but don't know for
sure.
I know of a fair number who have net access only through work or
school, not at home. How are they counted?
Possibly not at all, probably as broadband users if they are counted.
