As long as people are willing to pay good money for locked-down

Speaking of which, does anyone know of a good DVD player that's region
free and that allows you to fast forward through *all* content?
Ideally, it should also have both vertical and horizontal scale
controls, so that I can watch double-letterboxed material, i.e.
material that has black bars on both the sides *and* the top and
bottom.

Off the top of my head, I'm not sure of any non-software DVD player which
ignores "Prohibited User Operations."

Region free is easier; if you see one from Cyberhome, Apex or any of a
million other brands that aren't huge ones like Sony/Panasonic/Samsung/etc
it probably has a code to make it region free, although a bit of googling
prior to buying it is in order.
