Yes. And I've noticed that no matter how horrible the news, they're
always laughing and giggling moments later, as they cover a "human
interest" story.
Also, half the news program is commercials, and half of the other half
is teasers for what's coming up after the commercials -- usually a
dire warning about how something in your pantry or in the water or in
your medicine cabinet is sure to kill you, and they'll tell you what,
right after "station identification."
At least that was true the last time I watched, which was some
time ago.
