should
have been usable all along, by any browser on any platform.
Some browsers block some jpgs when their security settings are set to
high. I haven't been able to find out how to make jpgs which won't be
blocked though. Some I put on line are blocked & some aren't.
You sure? I've never heard of this. (Possibly it's jpegs from some
sources? Especially from not the same server as the page they're in?)
Do you have one or more examples to hand that you can pass on?
This page has jpgs, most of which I created with Photoshop 5.5.

Using internet Explorer 6 to 7, the images show up if you go into
Internet Options and change the setting in the Security tab to Medium.
If you change the Security setting to High, then hit refresh on the
page, the jpgs don't show up.
(Also, some browsers don't actually support progressive jpegs.)
I didn't set them for progressive, or not (not knowing enough about it).
The jpg save option defaults to 'baseline' standard, so I assume that's
their format. They're 76 DPI RGB images.
I just checked the main page, http://www.neo-opsis.ca/ , which has an
animated gif image. It also won't display with the Security set to high.
(I made the images in Photoshop 5.5 and compiled the images into an
animated gif in Ulead Gif animator).
