The question wasn't whether it "would be nice". The question is
whether you think they should be *forced* to do it.

Do you actually think you could find enough libertarians?

Just picking up on this bit.

To begin with, they could probably find enough conservatives--especially
if it had been known for a while that there were lots of unfilled
academic positions reserved for them.

As for libertarians, there are a fair number of libertarians in
economics. And since, as any good economist could tell you, practically
everything is really economics, we can use the surplus to fill up the
deficit of libertarians in political science, and sociology, and
history, and ... .
