We may have that situation in 2011, since it seems like DC is going for
2012 instead of 2011. I talked to a couple of committe members, so it
isn't official. It could happen in 2010 if Australia doesn't get
enough votes to win in the business meeting or the count of everyone.

Seattle has already announced a bid for 2011 (announced it, I believe,
before the talk of the DC bid moving came up). The vote for 2011 is
not until 2009--there's plenty of time for other bids to start up.

L.A.con IV bid for several years for the weekend before Labor Day, and
has been announcing its dates in all of its information in the 2 3/4
years since it won the bid. It's hard to excuse anyone who doesn't
start complaining about it six weeks before the convention...
