"The world that our grandchildren have to live in" isn't very
precise--some of us already have grandchildren living in this world.

If you mean "the world of a couple of generations from now--say about
2050" I think you are being extraordinarily conservative. That world
will probably have problems, but they are not likely to be the problems
we are worrying about at the moment.
