: I wonder if any group has tried to ban electric blankets? After all,
: they emit RADIATION! And not just any radiation, but INFRARED
: radiation!!
:
:
: But even though I am now out of Chapter 13, I am still required by
: other circumstances to continue to live frugally. This includes
heating
: bills. Most of my neighbors in this apartment complex are already
: dreading their upcoming heating bills. We use gas, not heating oil,
but
: prices will rise. And lows at night are in the low 50s already.
We've had highs around 55 this week....and it isn't even really cold
yet, first hard frost last night, though....die, bugs, die.
: (Anybody still use coal?)
University of Illinois does...which is why the thermometer on my desk
reads 81° right now.
: So I leave my gas heater off, wear sweaters and other heavy clothing
: during the day, and use flannal pajamas at night. Plus flannal
blankets
: and the electric blanket. The cats think this is an improvement,
since
: the warmth of the electric blanket seeps upwards to the throw that
: covers my bedding. So they are sleeping with me again.
What's wrong with your cats? If they feel cold, they should be right
on you...my cats don't even wait until it gets at all cold, to the
point where I sometimes have to push them away at night. Bexley even
insists on occupying my armpit when I sleep.
: So life is basically good, and I hope things are well with you.
