I'm sorry; I had a total mental spaceout. Perhaps I'm losing my
faculties in my old age.
My first post referred, somewhat sloppily, to two possible solutions
to two different problems. One was airdrops of food and water to help
the victims. The other was the use of firefighting planes to drop
water, not for drinking but to put out fires.
I've read your prior posts on drinking water/food drops, and they make
perfect sense. I now officially agree with you on that point.

regarding firefighting planes. I suspect it was because I had
mentally conceded your point regarding food/drinking water drops, so I
considered that thread closed and moved on to my firefighting
suggestion. Unfortunately, I didn't get around to actually
articulating that concession, and I misread your post.
I apologize for any confusion, and I hope that this explanation
straightens it out, though I suspect it may not.
In any case, do you know anything about putting out fires from the
air? Is that practical in an urban environment, when fire service is
out?
I've read and
