Reminds me of the "study questions" I found at the back of _Holes_,
which appeared to have been scientifically chosen to seek out and crush
any joy that may have been inadvertently felt while reading the book.
Having said that, the technique of asking questions about what has just
been read *does* help develop language skills. My Japanese teacher does
it to me, to good effect.
