No. I do not see that happening now. Scientists in
the US are breathing *much* easier since the change of
administration.

The persecution that some "scientists" complained about
under the Bush regime was that they were "persecuted" by
other scientists disagreeing with them and attempting to
examine their work.

Some "scientists" are breathing much easier, since they
know that no real scientists will be permitted to
contradict them any more.

Let us look at actual examples of scientists suffering
persecution and punishment for politically incorrect
results. The punishment is always by the left for
results that are insufficiently left wing.

I really am done with this topic. I really want to let
people like James have the last word. But I can't let that
last word be a complete misstatement of the truth.

I have PERSONALLY sent my journal articles to Bush
administration political review. I have talked with scientists
who were infuriated that their research was being hidden by
right-wing bureaucrats. Look up Jim Hansen, Richard Wetherald,
and Christopher Milly for examples of scientists who ran afoul
of the last administration.

I am not saying the left wing is innocent, although I haven't
seen them interfere in my work yet. But James is saying the right
wing is innocent, and blames the persecution exclusively on the
left, and people should know that is incorrect.

Now I *am* done. James may say anything he likes at this point,
but after this last whopper I hope everyone remains skeptical about
his opinion on these matters.
