Are your creatures Cyborgs, mechanical robots, or artificiallyconstructed men (androids).
I think there are both and it would suit my purposes for the same
blanket word to be used for both because my protag does not
initially realise there are both types. The cyborgs will usually look
like people but so do some robots and I don't yet know if the ones
that she would see as being robots also have some human element - if
they did ordinary people would be unlikely to know. I know that isn't
a very clear answer but the boundary between what does and doesn't
count as human is interesting and I haven't really started work on
this yet so I want to keep my options open.
Personoid. Oid. Robo. Lookalike. Humot. Hubot. Squaddibot.
Any distinguishing characteristics? -- funny look, noise, smell?

Thanks all. I need to think a bit more about this.
