I approve on the concept, but I'm having trouble with the execution.

What does that leave to talk about?

The craft of writing. No need to work on crits, we can talk about
language in a theoretical way.

Or, as others suggested, we could talk about writers' lives, which are
traditionally centered around cats and chocolate. But I'm in a bad sort
today. My dog is sick and I'm worried. This is the best damn dog that
ever lived, and I can't relate how important this dog is to me. So I'm
too distracted to be frivolous, I'm afraid.

Stony says he will come and lick him and lick him and lick him and force
him to be well. (Stony thinks he's the best dog ever, but he's wrong
like that a lot.)
