Re: SF Publishing Opportunity

I love this group! Many of you will be pleased to hear I've
officially joined and now am a valued new member. The only downside I
see is that some members will now no longer be able to claim to speak
for ALL members.

I posted a brief note seeking input and suggestion - that has come in
abundance and I appreciate it more than you may realize. I'm only
glad I chose 1 usenet group for research rather than the 100 (always
overdoing, huh?) originally considered. I honestly don't know how you
guys do it - with my other activities, just keeping up with replies
and trying to respond to this one becomes a frazzling experience. I
compliment you all on the efforts you place here and abroad.

In overview, it seems the primary objections here are not ones of co-
op publishing, but of presentation. The majority of respondents seem
to feel that I should not emphasize (or even suggest) publishing
credits; further, they take exception to my mention of Royalty, even
though the words 'minimal' and 'pittance' are used in conjunction.
These are valid points, ones I thought I had covered; hence, the value
of research.

Believe it or not, I am quite capable of learning from my research;
after all, what point is there to it if not incorporated? I believe
these particular suggestions must be incorporated and I will make
corrective changes to both my website and offering.

Just a couple more brief notes:

I hope a couple of you are never selected for jury duty - the poor
accused doesn't stand a chance, regardless of guilt or innocence - but
that is your passion and I applaud you for holding to your steadfast
beliefs, for not allowing fact to interfere.

I have been called many things in these discussions (Zebbie [may I use
the familiar?] called me nuts). I was called a dreamer - which I find
complimentary - and said to not be a publisher, to have no idea what I
was (am?) doing. That's fine and I have no problem with it because I
know it came from the passion stated above. I do find it interesting,
however, that not one response has sought credential, background, or
experience.

Someone said one doesn't advertise baby formula in a breastfeeding
publication. I disagree; I think it one of the best places. Likewise
this post. I believe it was placed in one of the best possible places
to gain the criticisms needed and to make my project a better one.
Each of your responses has helped me further this little venture and I
thank you all. As a side note, I have received 4 submissions through
this posting - it seems the ones here who do have an interest in
participation are not quite so vocal as those who are offended by it.
(Wait. If I received 4 submissions, essentially 1%, what would have
happened had I gone with 100 usenet groups . . . ?)

At any rate, I would like to thank each and every one of you for
contributing to this thread and keeping it going. I hope it continues
and that the input remains passionate.

Finally, I do hope to make my own contributions to further discussions
here, perhaps someday becoming an accepted member. I just know we're
going to become fast friends.
