What's the tiniest bit of worldbuilding that you've wasted excessive
amounts of time on?

For me I think it's got to be all the time I spend trying to work out
what the phase of the moon was on the night of the 22nd October 1527 and
suchlike. Do I seriously expect anyone will notice if I get it wrong?
...And yet, you never know, they might. At least being right ensures
that I'm consistent.

Yeah, it's hard to know. I'm sure I didn't need to create a whole
Quechua-English dictionary to translate the names--particularly with all the
grammar notes and so on--, but where to stop?

And it's so easy now. I know the exact weather hour-by-hour on several days
in 2005 in two different places. How important is that? Probably not very.
