Well, yes. Long-established precedent in this country is that
"separate but equal" -- having separate water fountains and bathrooms
and schools for "whites" and "coloreds" -- is, on its face and by its
nature, unequal.

Oddly enough, separate men's rooms and women's rooms are still the norm,
however.
