Well, yes. Long-established precedent in this country is that
"separate but equal" -- having separate water fountains and bathrooms
and schools for "whites" and "coloreds" -- is, on its face and by its
nature, unequal. The only acceptable outcome is full, civil
*marriage* -- not civil union status that states can opt out of
recognizing when it suits them.

But --

This is arrant nonsense, and I defy you to find any mainstream
advocate of the position that you can actually cite.
