Dunno. Some people, vide upthread, seem to think that it never
happened at all.* Others identify the Pharaoh of Exodus with
Ramses II, pointing out that his reign was shortly after the fall
of the Hyksos dynasty. The idea is that the Hyksos (who were no
more Egyptians than the later Ptolemies were) were a Semitic
tribe who would've been more sympathetic to Hebrew Gastarbeiter
than a native Egyptian ruler. The Pharaoh of Exodus, you'll
recall, is described as "a Pharaoh who knew not Joseph."

And some, I assume, suggest different dates/dynasties/Pharaohs.

What you probably want to do is read up on the different theories
and see if you can find one that suits you.

*I don't know how these theorists account for Psalm I think it's
145, large chunks of which appear to have been lifted from
Akhenaton's Hymn to the Sun.
