Zeborah, I haven't figured out how to get on to the #rasfc IRC channel,
any chance of a few pointers for the technically challenged?
I'm not Zeborah (I hope you don't mind) but I can give pointers:
- Get an irc client; if you're using Firefox anyway, the on-board (or easy
plugin) chatzilla seems to be adequate. Ask Julie or Julia for technical
details of *that*, because I use a stand-alone text-based Linux client
(irssi).
- Configure the client to your taste (i.e. tell it your username and
things like that).
- Connect to irc.freenode.net. Help on freenode, and on IRC in general, is
at http://freenode.net. It's handy, but not mandatory, to register with
the server (http://freenode.net explains why and how).
- Type /join #rasfc and you'll get a list of who is there.
- Please make it clear who you are if you're under a name we're not likely
to recognise, because we've had one bad troll and a couple of clueless
people.
See you!
Irina
