Like other responders, I don't *start* from such a list.

But thank you for posting. These make an excellent check list for after
I've written enough: to describe my characters and see whether they are
different enough, or all share the same quirks etc.

Also, whether it is natural that they are working together, and if not,
whether it is explained.

I think it's a bit like "try not to make all your characters sound the
same" when writing dialogue.

The Good v. Evil question is appropriate too. None of my characters are
good or evil, but I'd say most of them have your "humane" principle.
They are not cruel.

One of them likes practical jokes which verge on psychologically cruel,
which isn't admirable, and I'm not sure how to classify it.

And *all* my characters are honest. That's an unrealistic element I
hadn't noticed before.

As I said, an interesting checklist for *after* I have developed a
mental description of my characters.
