Interesting comments. Could you please avoid crossposting? I don't
want to bother the gentlefolks at rec.arts.sf.science, unless I'm doing
it on purpose.

It was on purpose. The effects on eunuchism, dwarfism et cetera on
mind and brain are very much real-life and known to medical science.
It was surprising no one pointed this out, but it seemed that
rec.arts.sf.science would be better place to ask what really happens
to a teenage dwarf or eunuch - in the medical consequences and in
legal treatment.

We were actually riffing on things that are currently medically
impossible, like halting the physical growth at 3yoa while allowing the
mind to develop normally. Or stopping some portions of the body from
growing normally, while allowing other parts to age - and the context
was largely in relation to involuntary sex workers. My personal take is
kind of violent. I think that if you do something like this, you'll
eventually produce very small people who want to kill you.

Dwarfism, as I understand it, is an unusual maturation process and not
the same thing at all.

The environment wasn't supposed to be earthly at all, so using US legal
models seems pointless. I think you could safely assume we were talking
about bad guy, and extra-legal behavior - the sort of thing that
good-guys would sweep in to stop as soon as they found out, or the sort
of horrible dystopia that heroes sometimes find themselves trapped in.
