A simple paperwork mix-up at the van company.
They hand the clipboard that says "take this load to LA" to the wrong
driver, with somebody else's furniture.
The driver with her load gets the clipboard that says "take this load
to Anchorage".
Oh, I like that. As a first step, anyway. Switched clipboards.
The driver gets into the cab, revs up the engine, looks again at
the clipboard, and says "Wait, they said 'Anchorage,' that can't
be right, this says 'Highland Park.'" And he was born and
brought up in Jacksonville, and he KNOWS there's a Highland Park
in Florida....
And they begin, back at the New York office, to realize something
is amiss when the guy arrives in LA with the Anchorage load ...
no, it doesn't even need that, the driver looks at the clipboard
as he's crossing the Hudson River and says, "Wait a minute, they
said 'Los Angeles' and this says 'Anchorage', yup, 'Anchorage,
Alaska.' Guess I need to get my ears checked. After I get back
from this Alaska run," so it's WEEKS before New York realize
ANYthing is wrong. I like it.
