Agreed. I apparently let two black widows on my porch get pretty big
before my husband pointed out what they were.
I was still in favor of leaving them be ... but was convinced
otherwise. I'm still not sure it was the right decision.
Black widows breed. Leave the two alone, soon you'll have 200. Why take chances? It's one thing with wasps or bees, which -- unless you're allergic, or they're Africanized bees -- are going to be just an annoyance, but with things that are venomous enough to seriously injure or kill, it's just plain crazy to leave them to breed in/on your place of residence.
