the website is in my profile

If you really want people to be able to find your website, put it in your
*signature* (like mine below). People who use a real newsreader, as
opposed to Google Groups, can't see your profile. Most of us probably
don't even know where to look for it.

Irina,
I didn't know that. Thank you. Ken

While we're initiating you to the wonderful ways of rasfc :-) a few more
customs:

* we start our .sig files with "-- " on a separate line -- hyphen,
hyphen, space, enter, exactly like that. What it does is tell the
computer on the receiving end "What follows is a .sig file," and that
computer can deal with it accordingly. (My computer turns it to grey so
I only need to pay attention to it if I want to, and also deletes it
automatically when I'm replying.)

* while we do quote what we're replying to, we generally snip out the
bits that aren't relevant to our response. (A good rule of thumb is to
make sure at least some of your original text is visible in the first
screenful - people don't like scrolling down through several screens of
quoted stuff only to see something as short as "Me too!" Google may do
'hidden text' for you, but most of us read using other programs so do
have to wade through it all.)

* I thought I was going to say something else, but now I've forgotten.
You could have a look at the rasfc FAQ, anyway, athttp://www.lshelby.com/rasfcFAQ.html

(Oh, just remembered: we don't typically open with greetings to a
particular person. There's no reason not to, we just normally don't.
The newsgroup is more analogous to a group conversation than to a series
of letters, so we primarily use face-to-face protocols. But this is not
a big deal.)

I just downloaded your rasfcFAQ info into my favorites. I see why I'm
getting some of the replies now. As I admit, I am so hardheaded
sometimes I don't see what I'm doing. I read some of it and
understand more of what you are really seeing. Thank you for all your
help. Ken
