T-shirts and jeans are the essence of the current fashion.
I don't own any t-shirts or jeans so I'm definitely not in fashion.
I don't think I've owned a pair of jeans since I discovered elastic
waist and half elastic waist slacks. This meant I had to wear the
ugly synthetics in the way back time, but polys and mixes got better
and better and have been very wearable for a couple or more decades.
I happen to think that blue jeans are generally not attractive anyway,
except on very slim and well shaped bodies.
In the outdoors, except for being durable in walking through brushy
areas, they're anywhere from uncomfortable to downright dangerous
(don't start me about the great outdoors and hypothermia, if you value
your time.). And there are some not too ugly synthetics that are just
as durable as denim for outdoor wear in rough country. Cowboys and
pioneers wore denim pants and overalls because they didn't _have_
anything better to wear. They were the best the time had to offer for
the price. The image has stuck.
