You need to have both bluetooth enabled, and I agree, it's a useful
feature, making a laptop truly independent.
I do it with bluetooth, but I think it may also be possible using USB.
There is a cell phone standard--not the one that Cingular, my carrier,
uses--that is supposed to give you quite a high speed connection, but
it's only available in metro areas. I'm using EDGE, which feels
comparable to, or a bit slower than, a standard landline modem.
But it's available most places, including most of route 80 crossing the
country.
