Eh? I haven't asked anyone to accommodate me in any way - I just
enquired about whether a particular quirk of the way I see messages
posted here was a general issue or one peculiar to my set up. From the
helpful responses of other people, I have gathered that the answer is
the latter, which is fine. Whether the minor irritation this causes me
is worth the bother of changing the way I post messages here I rather
doubt.

Your response reminds me of the traditional arrogant attitude of male
car enthusiasts, sneering at women for just driving cars instead of
knowing exactly how they work.

You have to bear in mind that Tina's command of idiomatic English
is ... idiosyncratic, at best. "You have to bear in mind", I think,
appears to her as an imperative. And you know the phrase "hair
trigger"? That hair would, for Tina, be a six-inch steel hawser.
