gripe about sequencing

My WIR is down to the last chapter, to which most of the plot changes have
been smushed (like toothpaste) ... but what's really bugging me is lack of
POV characters.
There are 5 POV characters, and I've been switching between them when one of
them comes to a dramatic point. But now, character A is unconscious;
characters B and E have nothing much going on until character C solves a
major problem she is faced with, and character D is being told to go away by
character C.
So basically, I have only two POV characters (C and D) to write with for the
first half of this chapter, until character C has solved her big problem.
Then all hell will break loose, and the other characters will spring into
frantic action.
What's really bugging me is that character C's doings are studded with the
kind of minor cliffhangers that I've been using as a cue to switch POVs. It
feels wrong to just barrel through them - but I can hardly switch POV to
someone who is just waiting around, just for the sake of the cliffhanger.
Any ideas?
Pat
