Probably much more than you wanted to know about beavers...

Not at all - that's great, thanks.

Are all your degrees four year courses, though?

Ours are generally three. That might explain your students taking a wider variety of peripheral courses.

There are Associate degrees, generally considered as two-year programs at junior colleges, community colleges, and vocational-technical colleges.

Then there are the Bachelor degrees, generally considered four-year programs. Although there are some people getting them under four years, and a lot of people taking five or even six years to complete one.

Most of the graduate (Masters and Doctorate) programs that I have seen describe themselves as roughly two years to complete, though again there are many people taking a lot longer than that to complete. Like me :-)

My Bachelor was done in 4 yrs. My Masters took 5 because I was working, going to school, and had an actual family life that kept getting in the way. The nice thing about that was that the working part did lead to my eventual permanent employment. Well, permanent *so far* :-)
