I wanted to say thanks to everyone for their suggestions when I was
whingeing about blogging. The first entry on Zorro's dog blog is now
up on my website - if anyone is interested.
I hope I can make it un twee and entertaining and if anyone
has any more suggestions for photos etc and subject matter I'm very
happy to pick other people's brains.

Please note this is not an advert,( honestly) but the blog is
at http://www.nmbrowne.com/nmbrowne_blog.html
or if that doesn't work nmbrowne.com go to author and the click on the
link.

It doesn't work. Also, the links on the blog don't work--to read it I
have to scroll down. And the comment window doesn't work very well--it
presents a tiny window, and stays there after the comment is sent.

I couldn't decide whether I wanted comments - I suppose making it
difficult is a coward's way out : )

Also, have you considered linking larger versions of the pictures of
your family on the home page, so that one could click on the tiny
version now there and see something bigger? I get the impression that
you haven't fully appreciated the potential of web pages and blogs as a
form of work avoidance.

I don't want larger pictures of my family!
I can imagine how much time I could waste, but the point of it was
really just to keep the site live - by having new stuff arriving on it
slightly more frequently than new novels.
It's something to do when I'm not writing too. I am a bit tempted to
turn it into a story because I am going to run out of dog centred
things to say fairly fast.

It is, however, clear that you have a brave dog, doing his duty despite
the almost total lack of appreciation.

You're right - in fact I am so not appreciating him at the moment.
he is barking like a dog incensed because one of the boys is
pretending to beat up the other one. I'm leaving them to it, but
the dog sees this as a dereliction of duty and is trying to
make them stop.Good luck to him - I just wish he could
be quieter about it.

Thanks for your comments.
