Re: Fantasy fans...

To Alma,

Obviously we got off on the wrong foot, and although I write, I also
write without truly thinking things through when emotionally involved.
I can sit and write fantasy, undisturbed and get my message across
clear and concise, however, when writing on the spur of the moment, I
tend to get careless. I am not always clear as I think I am. I have
purposely not written much today just to breathe and relax and really
think of everything being debated.

I will state what I "believe" we may agree on.

1. Self-publishing- High risk, low chance of success, but for some, it
"may" be an option if all other doors are slammed shut.

2. The world of publishing is changing dramatically. Research and
really think about any direction you are going to pursue a writing
career. Improve your skills through college, night school, mentoring,
creative writing courses, etc. . .

3. NEVER, NEVER start off a conversation with self-promotion. BAD BAD
BAD

4. Do not be fast to judge anyone, although first impressions count, it
takes longer than one or two days to get to know someone.

5. Fallibilities, is it a word or not? Who cares, we all like the sound
of it.

6. Chill pills for everyone.

7. What works for one person, may not work for someone else.

8. Keep your dreams alive.

9. Write, then rewrite, rewrite and rewrite. Then get someone else to
edit it. Then rewrite again. Rinse and repeat.

10. Everyone does not write for the same reasons, and none of those
reasons are wrong.

11. Can't we all just get along?

12. Grey or gray? You decide.

13. I admit, I can be a prat at times, and I apologize for those times
I let me "pratness" show through.

14. Opinions are NEVER wrong, they are opinions.

15. I hope everyone has learned something valuable from our
discussions, our rants and our mistakes. I know I have.
