I know exactly what the FAQ says on the subject. The post that
started this thread doesn't fall into any of the prohibited
categories. The only one that even comes close is 'Anything that
is posted with the intent to get people to go look at a
particular website', and the subject line 'OT the ultimate in
cat-vacuuming' makes it clear the intent here is to amuse those
who feel like looking, *not* to get people to go look at the
website.

It can hardly amuse those people unless they look at it, so it is indeed
intended to get people to go look at that web site. On that point, at
least, she is right and you are wrong.

Actually, HE is right and YOU are wrong.

It was in no way intended to advertise anything, sell anything, or
otherwise entice anybody to do anything at all other than to go and
maybe be amused at the site. It was clearly marked as such. People had
every option of not going there at all, if they chose not to. It was
an amusing link offered up in a gathering of friends, take it or leave
it.

If you and RL can't see the difference between a post inviting someone
take a look at a "new e-zine" or a "we have faith in your work"
drive-by posting... well...

Never mind.
