You could, OTOH, have a use for an isotope that has formed only in this
particular part of the galaxy, you could have something occurring in
much greater purity than in other parts of the known universe (if normal
concentrations are 3% and you need to expend X million to mine enough
for a spaceship, and concentrations here are 8.5%...), or (I have no
idea whether this is _possible_,) one might have an organic compound
[native plantlife] that has some extraordinary properties.
