??? Why on earth? Unless you didn't like her, and put up with
her acquaintance in church because you had to, but disdained to
see her any time you could avoid it? If I had a *friend* working
retail (I once had a daughter working retail, but she's moved
on*), as distinguished from an enemy, I'd shop there when I knew
she would be there, so I could say hello.

*Sort of. She's now doing tech support, meaning she still has to
be polite to idiots, but at least they can't see her so she can
make faces at them.
