When I was a kid on a family visit to my uncle's house, I reached down
beside the armchair and was just in time to catch a passing mouse by
the tail (just luck, I didn't see any others while I was there).
I held it up in triumph while my mortified mother mouthed at me to let
it go before anyone else saw...
