are searching for two lost children

sharp-eyed archeologists

from Harvard last week found

shards of pre-Olmec pottery

in the mess on my desk

while thin-faced paleontologists

with tiny whisks and dental picks

prepare to exhume fragments

of an unknown ichthyosaur species

in the mess on my desk

but the biggest surprise is yet to come

the huge pool of magma

slowly surging to the surface

of the mess on my desk
