No guarantee that was the first to use the gimmick. Have a nagging
suspicion that one of the 40s-50s hard-boiled Spillaners may have
tried it before MacDonald.
Also, they were neither alphabetical nor word sharers. Just color-
coded.
That was the type I was looking for, a series with the titles connected
somehow. I was a fan of MacDonald's so I'm surprised I hadn't thought of
them.
