I read that one too. If you are only halfway through the book you really shouldn't comment. Mysteries usually develop and change over the course of the book.

Sorry. Thought the point of this was to talk about what we're reading. Didn't realize we weren't supposed to comment.

Oh stop it, barfly. I just recall a person on Crimespace commenting about a CJ Box book when she was only halfway through. CJ Box ripped her a new one because she hadn't finished reading the book. She had to back peddle, not realizing the author was online too. I wouldn't want this to happen to you here.

Its not like I haven't commented when I was halfway through a book. I learned after reading the (painful) exchange on Crimespace not to do that anymore. Its (IMHO) unfair to the book and author.

But! YMMV.

Good Lord, I hope Patsy doesn't monitor this site. Talk about an author getting an ear full.

Joan

I've posted when I chose not to finish books and stated the reasons why I didn't finish them. Not necessarily a criticism of the author, more that the content either didn't appeal to me or I found that too many inaccuracies were taking me out of the story.

Other times I can overlook an inaccuracy if the plot or the characters are keeping me entertained. One of my favorite authors incorrectly used a medical term in a recent read, but it was a good enough story that I finished it anyway.

Often when I see books commented on here I know that the poster and I enjoy the same sorts of books. Get lots of recommendations that way. And sometimes I learn that a book is not for me based on a RAM post.
