Oh man, it's the 'elitist alarmists are looking down on us again' argument.
But that aside, I would agree that saying that people who don't agree with
your position are "deranged' is totally stupid and no way to begin a
discussion or educate anyone.

It's certainly an extraordinarily complicated subject, we can all agree at
least on that. Does seem, however, that name calling from either side
doesn't help us get at the facts. Articles such as this shed no light
either.. but they do alienate.
