Jack and I are back from a week in Seattle. Thanksgiving at Salty's was a
grand experience and while others in our group were more glutinous than I,
I certainly admit to going away with a fuller stomach than that that
follows a normal meal. The ballet, The Nutcracker, was excellent (and
Jack did not fall asleep) and dinner after at the Icon Grill was a
delightful experience. Jack's payment for coming to the ballet with us was
a trip out to the Bowing Museum of Flight.

Jack just told me I spelled Boeing wrong. Opps.

Joan (who spells incorrectly on a regular basis)

The Museum of Flight does not belong to the Boeing company and has no
connection with the company at all, except that Boeing makes
occasional donations. This is a common misconception, which greatly
affects the donations to the Museum.

The most interesting display at the Museum of Flight, to me, is the
A-11 Blackbird modified into the M-12 "mother ship" for launching the
Mach-3 D-12 recce drones. There were two aircraft so modified. The
other one was lost when one of the drones hit the airplane, removing
one of the vertical stabilizers. The crew ejected safely, but the
backseater was drowned before he was rescued.

The Museum graciously allowed Dryden to remove the strongback
installed in the M-12 to install in our SR-71 for the LASRE, Linear
AeroSpike Research Experiment, which was a half-model of a lifting
body with an aerospike engine. We provided a replacement that allowed
them to keep the D-12 mounted atop the Blackbird in return.

And you spelled "gluttonous" quite wrongly, unless your friends are
very unusual.

Mary "Boeing did donate the barn and many aircraft, though."

We didn't just do weird stuff at Dryden, we wrote reports about it.
