Also, I don't know what Alaska law is regarding parental notification and
whether there is any judicial bypass and how hard it is to obtain that. But
the simplest explanation is that whether or not she wanted to be pregnant,
once she was, she preferred to carry to term.
Not exactly responsive, but what are the chances that she may be
carrying the same chromosomal mutation that her mother or father
carried for their latest? Not sure how Down's Syndrome works. My
daughter was born with a chromosomal defect that results in a common
syndrome, the most common in fact, behind Downs. We adopted her, so I
don't really know enough about it.
I didn't realize your daughter was adopted, John. You mean that I
wasted a lot of perfectly snarky comments about how she got to be so
cute? :-)
