This happened earlier this week here. An 8 year old ConnecticutThe parents are at fault here. What sort of idiot would let a small
boy and
his father were at a gun fair in Massachusetts. A rifle range was
being
used to demonstrate weapons. An "instructor" handed the boy an
Uzi, which, since the Republicans blocked renewal of the Assault
Weapons Ban four years ago, is legal now provided that it is set
up only for semi-automatic firing. [Anyone with any knowledge of
guns knows how to file down the limitation device and make it an
automatic.] The boy fired
the weapon; it kicked back toward his head as he fired again. He
died. It makes me sick.

fire a weapon? Child endangerment charges need to be filed on
parent and instructor. Take care

First to blame is the Vendor at the Gun Show who allowed live ammo
in that Uzi. Second is the father who allowed the boy to pick up the
Uzi.
There are places in this world where 8 year olds not only learn to
handle Uzis, but have them near enough to hand to use them should
the occasion arise. A 12 year-old showed me hers, and where she
kept it convenient for use. We both hoped she never would have to
use it. ggg
I thought from what Francis said that it was the recoil that killed
the boy, not being shot. It's tragic either way, and exceedingly
poor judgment on the part of the parent and the gun dealer.

As the weapon recoiled back and up, the boy must have pulled
the trigger a second time. A bullet struck him in the head.
The boy's father was with him, and apparently several feet behind preparing
to take a picture of him blasting away at a pumpkin or something of the
like. The father is an MD, an emergency room specialist. The gun was not a
full-sized Uzi, but a "machine pistol" type of weapon on full automatic, and
the boy was being supervised by a licensed instructor. Apparently the recoil
from the gun firing many rounds per second caused him to lose control and as
a result he shot himself.
A tragic event, and an apparent complete lack of common sense on the part of
the "supervising" adults.
Who was the idiot that put the bullets in the gun?
probably the idiot father insisted on live ammo

So can water. Your point?
(agreeing with the posters who think the dealer and the father were
BOTH idiots...)
