time Palin was the mayor.
It is beyond belief that she would demand the resignation of all of the
department heads as a "loyalty" measure. Our town is run by a Town Council
(with a chair) and a professional administrator. (Wasilla hired an
administrator to run the town, too.) If the administrator or the council
chair attempted to require the resignation of the head librarian, the Town
Clerk, the fire and police chiefs, the head of Public Works, there would be
a revolution and the Nampoleonic dimwit would be thrown out of office in a
recall vote so fast your head would spin. The people who work for the town
are not political appointees, they are people with expertise in their jobs.
The idea that Miss Wasilla would demand the resignation of public servants
in a small town as a "loyalty" measure simply boggles my mind. Obviously
things are very different in Alaska.
I don't know if this accurately describes her, since I don't know
enough about her, but the ego of a person that would act as if her
election as mayor to a small town in Alaska was the equivalent of the
changing of the government of Great Britain, seems a bit swelled.
